Fees & Payment Options

1. What is Sunnah circumcision?

Sunnah circumcision refers to the traditional practice of circumcision within the Islamic faith. We provide this service in a professional, clinical medical environment, utilising sterile instruments and standardised surgical techniques to ensure the highest standards of medical care.

2. What is the minimum age for Islamic circumcision at your clinic?

We provide circumcision services for boys aged 6 years and above. For safety and clinical reasons, we do not perform the procedure on infants or children under the age of 6.

3. Do I need a referral to book a consultation?

No referral is required. You can book a consultation directly with our clinic. During this initial visit, our doctor will perform a clinical assessment, explain the surgical process, and discuss the associated risks and aftercare.

4. Is sedation available for children?

Yes. While the procedure is typically performed under local anaesthesia, sedation options are available for younger children or patients with high anxiety. These procedures are performed at Wyndham Clinic Private Hospital to ensure a controlled and comfortable environment.

5. Is the Sunnah circumcision procedure covered by Medicare?

No. Because Islamic circumcision is performed for religious or personal reasons rather than to treat a specific medical condition (such as phimosis), it is considered an elective procedure. Therefore, it is a private fee service and is not eligible for Medicare rebates.

6. Where will the procedure take place?

Most procedures are performed at our primary medical clinic in Hoppers Crossing. However, any procedure requiring sedation or additional clinical monitoring will be conducted at Wyndham Clinic Private Hospital.

Important Patient Safety Information: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks, including bleeding, infection, pain, swelling, or dissatisfaction with the cosmetic outcome. A thorough consultation is mandatory to review medical history and determine suitability. Individual results vary. Patients are encouraged to seek a second opinion from a qualified health practitioner.
